Cross-Border E-Commerce at Scale: Local Heroes, Injection Models & Multi-Carrier Strategy on the Backbone of Contract Logistics

Presentation description

As e-commerce is currently growing at a very fast pace, many retailers still rely on a “one-size-fits-all” solution in deliveries. For effective growth, a new approach is needed – a hybrid model that combines local heroes, injection models and multi-carrier solutions, built on the foundations of contract logistics hubs.

In this session we will deep dive into crucial areas of today’s e-commerce development in the last mile:

  • Local heroes who are outperforming global players thanks to strong customer trust and broader delivery options.
  • Injection models which are enabling faster market entry.
  • Multi-carrier allocation – increasing flexibility and customer choice by distributing volumes across several partners.
  • Contract logistics hubs as the solid backbone for operations – including customs compliance and returns management into one seamless ecosystem.

Drawing on case studies and experience from Central and Northern Europe, I want to demonstrate the positive impact of this solution. Participants will learn how to transform logistics into a growth enabler and why this approach could become the new standard for cross-border e-commerce.

Finally, we will place this model in a broader context – looking at the biggest CEP players past, present and future, and sharing perspectives on how the entire branch of the logistics business is evolving.
